Spring Poncho

Spring has sprrruuung in Texas! Between the rain and what already feels like summer days I never got a chance to wear my sweater poncho. Yes a poncho, I stayed away from the trend for quite sometime. It was only this spring that I purchased my first poncho. And just like Future at the SXSW Fader Fort, I am a fan.

Even thought I’ve had no use for it in Austin, yet. I did get to sport it last the weekend during my short trip to New Mexico. This poncho is really one of the best sweaters to keep around for chilly nights, cold airports and camping. Which I plan to do this weekend!

Here are some pictures of my then #OOTD taken by my little sister who also got a chance to play little blogger.

Mickey & Me.

Happy Saturday!! I’ve been waiting for today all week. It is 73 degrees in Austin today and it does not feel like December, but the Posadas are creepin’ in. Yay for Christmas food!

Since the weather is amazing, I decided to wear my favorite crop top. I may have over done my outfit for a day of errands…but I feel good and that is all that matters anyway.

Here are some pictures of my #ootd taken by my talented friend Ryan Walters at

IMG_5159IMG_5156I really love these Gap boyfriend jeans. I was a little skeptical about wearing “loose pants” since I have hips, and thought they would make me look wider. However they are the most comfortable jeans I own, and look pretty awesome paired with a blazer. IMG_5162IMG_5187IMG_5177

These rings….

IMG_5184IMG_5191I hope you all have an amazing day! Make sure to follow me for upcoming Christmas DIY’s.

Drunk or Sober?

It’s Thursday, and we are all itching for the weekend.

Your girl has been hustling this week! I am 7 weeks into my event planning certification course and have honestly loved every minute. This course is an example how I would have liked my college courses to have been taught, with real life skills not just memorizing terms! My classmates and I have learned about contracts, taxes, food handling licenses, and state/city permits. On top of all the fun aesthetic details of what makes a great party (what I am good at).  We already hosted our first wedding too!

Now add a full-time job….AY! Naturally, I’ve made time to make some crafts, even though I should actually be going to the gym. Oh well, that’s why I go out on the weekends and dance! Needless to say I think I deserve a drank this weekend, but not before sharing my young professional simple #OOTD.

GODZILLA BUTT! Those bumps are from the skirts zipper!

But, I don’t want to got to work…..

But I love shopping so I guess…DSC_0176DSC_0149

H-Town, Beaches & Besties

I’ve probably visited Houston, TX about five times this year, but this was one of the most memorable trips yet. This past Saturday my HTOWN besties and I headed out to Galveston Island. A Texas oasis only an hour away from the city, were we spend the day at the Beach. It was also Cooper’s (my dawg!) first time seeing the ocean so it was kind of a big deal for us.

Jamaica Beach- Galveston, Texas.

Yup, that’s my 18 lbs dog crushing waves.

They played Frisbee and we……played it cool.

Thank you, Cisnero’s Family for having us.

It wouldn’t be a good post without a sunset picture and my beach #OOTD.

I guess I am breaking the rules by wearing white pants after Labor day, but its still summer in Texas. Its hot and these are very comfy!

Happy Monday, DANDY friends!

Today I wore “my Hot Pants” (under my pants) to work. In honor of one of my favorite bloggers “DO THE HOTPANTS” -Dana Suchow and her recent post “Photos I wish I didn’t Photoshop”. Read here –> I’ve been a fan of her blog for a while now, and was surprised when she “came clean” about  using Photoshop to fix her “flaws”. RESPECT GUURL!!!

I have been blogging for a little over two months now, and can honestly say that the only reason why I didn’t start earlier, was because I didn’t think I was “skinny, pretty, or cool enough”. I got over that quick!  Because I accept the fact that no one is perfect and that we are all “unique god damn snowflakes!” Suchow’s mission is to inspire readers like me, to accept themselves and learn to love their flaws, big and small.

I want to let her know that I am INSPIRED!! and that I accept my big hips, thighs and freckles.

Yes, I’m wearing a huge burger t-shirt to work.

I got my grandma’s hips, I love her and I love me.

Dirty Sixth

I have only been in Austin for about a year and a half now, but my experience in this city wouldn’t be the same without 6th street. I have yet to meet anyone in Austin who doesn’t have a bizarre if not delirious memory of a night on 6th Street “Dirty Sixth”. Let’s blame the cheap drinks, food trucks and live music for that, but there is something here for everyone.

Dirty Sixth is also the home to the original Alamo Drafthouse Cinema which is where I was headed to, but not before snapping some pictures of my OOTD. Lately i’ve been wearing a lot of black, maybe because I’m grieving over turning 25 this past weekend. I am happy to have made it this far, and hope to share more over the next quarter of a century.

Effortless Monday

Who hates Mondays? This girl! Especially figuring out what to wear to work after a weekend in shorts, crop tops and sandals. It has been a great summer!

It’s 95 degrees in Austin today and the last thing I want to wear are thick, structured clothes that don’t breathe or move. I also despise most slacks; actually I don’t even own a pair! They’re just not for me. So, the perfect solution was to wear an easy breezy summer dress in this pretty soft print. Effortless Monday work wear!

Land of Yesterday, Tomorrow and Fantasy

I just had an amazing weekend in C A L I F O R N I A !! Accompanied by some of my favorite people in this planet, my mother, two cousins and the reason for our trip my little sister Iris. Not that I need a reason to go to Disneyland, I listen to Disney soundtracks at the office from time to time. But, for about two years we talked about taking Iris to Disneyland and we finally made it happen on this 4th of July (we are brave).

Orange County welcomed us with a cozy breezy 75 degrees. Ahhhh..Perfect, and what better way to enjoy that weather than at the beach, Huntington Beach! Where we got to watch some of the pro surfers compete at the Vans US Open Surfing.

OOTD-H&M Shirt/Sandals, Express Shorts, MK Purse, Jack Willis Bracelet

Independence Day we headed out to Disneyland in the AM. Honestly…. I think I was more excited than my sister!!! I have amazing memories from this place and being the Disney fan/child at heart that I am I could not wait to feel the Magic (yes, the damn Disney Magic!) once again. Also they have the best churros!

My darling sibling!

Honestly I remembered this castle to be much larger, but was still very cute.

DSC_0351I was very excited to meet Minnie as you can tell!

Side note: Mr. & Ms. Mouse who were married in Sept 30, 1933 have separate homes right next to each other! hmm could it be that Walt Disney found the key to “happily ever after’? Anyway just one of the many things I psychoanalyzed as the day went by and I experienced as an adult at Disneyland.

In Mickey’s Mouse Cave. haha!

“I know all of the songs… I am embarrassing!”,  “Nooooh, it means you had a good childhood” – Alan. Wow, seriously when did this kid (teen) become so perceptive.

And after a whole day being on our feet, laughing and eating churros we ended our day with some of the best fireworks I have seen, yet! Happy late 4th of July!

The next day after eating a well deserved California style breakfast, we ahead to the second park, Disney California Adventures (pretty much a grown up version of a Disneyland). California Adventures has less crowds, better quality food, and booze! Yes! grown up drinks, that only made the rides that much better! They also have a lot of new attractions like Cars Land, A Bugs Life, World of Colors and Ariel’s Underworld Adventure, my favorite.

Radiator Springs, in Cars Land it looks just like the movie!

I hope you enjoyed our pictures, it was very hard to select just a few after out of 600. This was my first adventure blog post! I promise to have many more to share. I had a lot of fun with my family on this trip, and am especially glad that I got to be a part of my little sisters magical memories that like mine, will last a lifetime.

Bidi Bidi, Anything for Salinas DIY T-Shirt

Give your old T-Shirt new life with your favorite quote! Mine was inspired by the current athletic sportswear vibe and SELENA QUINTANILLA! Bidi Bidi, Bom Bom!

I, along with my cousins was (honestly, still am) obsessed with her! Anyone that knows me can tell you this. Selena in one way or another is a part of many of my best childhood memories. “Anything for Salinas” is a quote from her movie that Jennifer Lopez stared in 1997, portraying the short life of the Queen of Tejano. Anyone that is or was a fan will recognize!

Heres what you need:

Old T-Shirt
Soft Flock Iron-on alphabet letters ($3.49 online)
Soft Flock Iron-on numbers ($1.84 x2 online)

Start by laying out your shirt on a flat surface, and peel off the letters you will be using for your quote. Then, place the iron-on letters on your shirt (flock side up), play with the spacing and design according to the look you want.

I used a ruler to make sure the iron-on letters were spaced evenly and straight.

Only lay out as many letters as can fit under your iron. Now heat up the iron and press on the iron-on letters for 10 to 15 seconds.

After ironing the entire message in place, flip the item over and press again from the inside. I added the numbers 95 on the back (date of her death) to get that athletic sport wear feel.

DSC_0018And your done! It only takes about 10-15 minutes. Here’s how I wore it out for happy hour!

Coffee Break with Celine

It’s been little over a year since I graduated from college and landed my first professional job. Even though my transition has been smooth, there are still some things that I struggle to balance on a daily basis: like what to wear Monday thru Friday that is “business casual”, respects my personal style and is “appropriate”.

I hate to admit it, because I personally feel that what you wear shouldn’t matter. In a perfect world, a person should be judged at their workplace based solely on their work, but that’s not the case. Appearances matter, and unfortunately most work clothes are not appealing! I am a Millennial: I crave individuality and style. Yet, understand the profound effect of clothing on your thoughts, on how you feel, and on the way others perceive you. Consider your audience: what does your outfit say about you and the type of work you’re planning on doing? Mix and match work and casual clothes according to your job responsibilities.

My OOTD depicts my office’s relaxed business casual dress code, and a quick coffee break. Professionally Stylish!
